KCA International has completed the design of the new Saadiyat Rotana Resort & Villas located on Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi, taking cues from the surrounding nature of sea and sand.

Blending indoor and outdoor spaces, the designers focused on creating a seamless transition between the nature outside and the interiors, using a fresh aesthetic with natural materials that evokes a relaxed sophistication. The interiors also maintains a subtle nod to Emirati heritage through a more contemporary approach.

The main lobby offers a glimpse of the local landscape and its culture against the backdrop of the ocean, which flows into the guest wings.

“Our inspiration for the lobby was also to bring the beach into this space with the presence of sand and reeds – a local vegetation. Guest can choose different zones from formal, ethnic to casual settings to help them relax in the main lobby,” said KCA.

The layout of the guest rooms offers uninterrupted sea views from the foyer, the bedroom and even from the bath. Upgraded versions of Standard rooms and Suites are available on the top floors of the hotel as it offers a wider horizon. The hotel boasts Ambassador suites and a double height Royal suite with an outdoor jacuzzi.

One- and two-bedroom villas with their own outdoor pool dot the boundary of the hotel before guests step onto the beach.

The main F&B outlet of the hotel is the All-day dining which is designed as an open plan layout with live cooking stations and offer guest more of an indoor -outdoor dining experience.

KCA has also designed three specialty restaurants: an Italian with fresh interiors but with a laid -back environment, the Gastropub which is a steam-punk themed industrial bar and a Grill restaurant which along with its terrace and outdoor dining opens up to the swimming pool.

The 450 people capacity hotel ballroom is designed as a contemporary space with some touches that reflect the local culture. It is also able to transform through various configurations through the use of sky-fold doors. A large ballroom pre-function and self-sufficient bridal suite completes the hotel’s facility offerings.

Three meeting rooms with F&B inclined pre-function areas can be combined together as single space for large meetings and functions.

The hotel also features a luxurious spa with eight treatment rooms with an additional couple’s suite, in addition to relaxation rooms and a hammam facility.
