The Middle East hospitality industry is being developed as an all-round tourist attraction catering to a range of travel needs. Hotels increasingly provide upgraded retail offerings to enhance guest experiences by integrating franchised food and consumer retail outlets as well as franchised wellness and recreation facilities. Travel related retail sales in the Middle East is forecasted to increase from US$ 3.2 billion in 2011 to US$ 5.6 billion in 2016, outperforming the broader retail industry in terms of growth. Key driving factors include, availability of strong and experienced franchise partners, strong consumer confidence as well as hosting shopping festivals and large scale events such as EXPO 2020 in Dubai and the World Cup in Qatar.
The Hotel Show has been very important to Intermetal as we have been participating for the past 15years and we have found there are key decision makers here. In the hotel show, we usually meet hotel investors, hotel operators and developers. In the past 6years we’ve met a high caliber of people, the quality of customers we meet here is very high and we are very pleased with this.
This is a great show for us as we’ve had lots of appointments and lots of success at the show. We came across the whole main hospitality operators in Dubai and Middle East areas and we are in process with several projects.
It has been a very nice event, a very good experience that we are enjoying. We have met so many hotels and clients that we were never able to meet before. So this gave us chance to interact, build awareness around our products and what we are here for.
