Along with the American University Dubai and the Hotel Show team (www.thehotelshow.com), The Hotel Show Student Design Competition and Awards aims to encourage and inspire the development of creative and innovative young talent in the field of interior design and architecture within hospitality.

Together with the American University in Dubai, our Official Academic Partners, and local universities and institutions, The Hotel Show will bring the addition of the Student Design Awards. This year’s theme is “The Hotel design of the Future”.

Students enrolled in Interior & Design and Architectural degrees will demonstrate their acquired skills and talent by interpreting the future vision of the hotel industry.

The competition will/can be part of the Interior & Design Academic curriculum where the participating students will be able to have their achievements assessed and rewarded by a panel of industry specialists; credit will be offered as part of the project realisation.

Across the UAE and the region, students will be asked to submit their concepts where they will endure three rounds of judging before the shortlisted students are announced. Their exhibits will be displayed in the Student Design Gallery at The Hotel Show 2012 (15-17 May 2012) at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

The final three shortlisted students will be invited to work with a leading design house and bring their concept to life on the show floor. The final judging will take place on the first day of the show and the official ceremony will take place during the Middle East Hotel Awards which will be hosted on the 15th May 2012 at a five start venue in Dubai.
 

The Winner will be rewarded with an internship at Woods Bagot.
