Abu Dhabi-based Benyan Development Company has won AED120m ($32.6m) contract to refurbish and extend the Mafraq Hotel in the emirate’s capital.
Development of the hotel, which will be branded the Ramada Abu Dhabi Mafraq, includes the refurbishment of an existing 120 rooms and the construction of 129-room new chalet block, according to a company statement.
The hotel, which is being developed by the investment firm The National Investor (TNI) is expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2010.
“Our confidence in the strength of Abu Dhabi’s economy remains high,” Orhan Osmansoy, CEO, TNI said. “This project confirms our commitment to the local economy, in this case, by contributing to the hospitality industry which continues to mature and position Abu Dhabi as an attractive international destination.”
