Hotel Show to unveil ‘in-visible spaces’

Exclusive industry partner Depa commissions award winning designer to present ‘spaces within spaces’ hotel room concept at The Hotel Show.
Renowned futurist Colin Seah will present his creative, curved hotel room concept at the industry showpiece which takes place at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre from 8-10 June 2008. “I have always believed in the power of space to transform - the banal into the poetic, the everyday into the sublime,” said Seah of the Ministry of Design.
He is creating the exciting concept hotel room for Dubai-based Depa, the largest international interior contracting company in the Middle East, North Africa and South East Asia.
Depa, a strategic partner of The Hotel Show, will boast one of the most prominent stands at the exhibition.
Technology makes hotel rooms more personal

The Hotel Show 2008’s technology arena will showcase next generation systems designed to provide hotel guests with all the comfort and convenience of their home and office environments.
“With the proliferation of mobile devices, personal digital assistants, portable DVD players, MP3 players, and Smartphones, hotel guests often arrive with all the technology they need,” said Maggie Moore, Exhibition Director, The Hotel Show. “The question is, are all hotels keeping up with their guests expectations with in-room facilities as well as adequate back office technology?”
Smart hotel operators can provide for MP3 players, digital cameras, and other devices to connect to in-room AV devices for listening and viewing experiences that create a home away from home.
Within the 1,800 sqm technology arena will be a Business Lounge equipped with terminals and Internet access will be provided for visitors and exhibitors, sponsored by the world's largest electronics and IT company, Samsung Electronics.

The Hotel Show to turn hoteliers green
The Hotel Show 2008 will focus on sustainability issues during the Seven Star Conference, which will feature Farnek Avireal’s award-winning survey.
It is estimated that implementing energy saving recommendations could save Dubai’s five-star hotels AED 30 million annually.
With the carbon footprint of travel and tourism globally now firmly under the media spotlight, regional industry professionals are actively pursuing greener alternatives. Not only to help the environment but also to improve operating margins.
